March 2 / 3, 2012 Painting Days in Büttikon AG
Structuralist Art proves its most important credo anew
Anyone can be a Structuralist Artist!
At the initiative of committed mother and resident, Chantal Norsky, a workshop for children in Structuralist Art took place in early March in the Aargau municipality of Büttikon. For two days, nine highly motivated children between the ages of five and eight were taught this new art form. And although the time available was quite short, all participating children completed their painting with flying colors.
Thanks to Ms. Norsky’s active support, the painting course could be held in her beautiful home. In addition to her eight-year-old son and five-year-old daughter, seven other equally curious and motivated children joined. Their mothers, who accompanied the children to the course and were able to observe the work in part, were fascinated by how quickly this painting technique can be acquired, without any prior knowledge or special talents.
Thus, the nine young Structuralist artists created complex and individual works under the supervision of the Artistic Director of the Structuralist Project, Laila Capadrutt, and her assistant, aspiring Structuralist art teacher, Onna Rageth.
The children showed such enthusiasm and stamina that they practically had to be encouraged to take short breaks for drinks and food.
Based on this great experience, the foundation of Structuralist Art is once again confirmed, according to which, in principle, anyone who enjoys creative design can learn this technically sound, pedagogically sophisticated, and psychologically adept, yet simple art form. This is entirely in line with the motto: Structuralism is for the people, by the people, and within the people!
